Hotkeys & Quick Access
AiNoter is designed for a keyboard-first workflow. You can configure hotkeys to copy prompts, and use a separate hotkey to open the Quick Access window.
Prompt hotkeys (copy)
- Assign a hotkey to a prompt to copy it instantly.
- Use this when you have a few prompts you copy many times per day.
- After copying, paste into your active app with ⌘V.
Quick Access window
Quick Access is a minimal window with a numbered list (including folders). Open it with your configured Quick Access hotkey.
Copy by numbers
Type the numbers shown in the list to copy a prompt.
Example: 2 1
2→ select folder #21→ copy prompt #1 inside that folder
Customizing hotkeys
Hotkeys are configurable so you can avoid conflicts with macOS or other apps.
- Open AiNoter Settings / Preferences
- Set the Quick Access hotkey
- Assign per‑prompt hotkeys for your most-used prompts
Troubleshooting
- If a hotkey doesn’t work, try a different combination (some shortcuts are reserved by macOS).
- If multiple apps use the same shortcut, change one of them to remove the conflict.
- If AiNoter can’t capture a global hotkey, check any macOS permissions the app requests.
